Sleek spoon restaurant Ella

The BEST restaurant in Ella for local Sri Lankan cuisine. My wife and I came back 3 nights in a row for dinner because we couldn’t get enough of the delicious food. On top of that, the owner of the restaurant is super friendly and he makes wonderful recommendations and his staff is extremely warm and welcoming. It is a small restaurant with 5 or 6 tables, so it is best to get there early if you don’t want to wait. My favorite dish we had was the string hoppers with vegetable curry, but we honestly loved every dish we tried (egg kottu, paratha with dhal curry, vegetable curry with rice, and the banana juice or the lassi). The prices are extremely fair and the food comes out relatively fast. I highly recommend getting off the main strip to try this wonderful restaurant. You won’t be disappointed

Eat here! Authentic Sri Lankan food, friendly warm hospitality from the owner who served us. Follow his recommendation. We got chicken curry and rice + chicken curry and hopper, which was like noodle pancakes. I'd never tried it but loved using them like a taco for all the different curries that came on my plate. I also ordered the mixed lasso and it was out of this world. Most delicious shake I've had in a long time. Thank you. We will come back

Very delicious restaurant. The food comes quickly. I can highly recommend the parata with the pumpkin curry. We also got a beetroot side dish for free! :)

I ate here for dinner twice in a row for my short stay in Ella, it was that good. First night I had the string hoppers with 4 veggie curry, the second night I had the 4 vegetable curry and rice with popadam. I think it’s safe to say they were both the best meals curries I’ve ever eaten . I also had the curd and honey for dessert. Exquisite service, food and atmosphere. This restaurant has been the highlight of my trip foodwise so far! If you get the chance to I highly recommend this gem for authentic sri lankan food in Ella.

Delicious! I got the veg curries and rice. So good. Everything was so fresh and tasted great. I think it is the best food I've had so far in Sri Lanka. Make sure you visit whilst in Ella! :)

If you visit Ella, do not miss this gem of a restaurant!! Packed with flavours, the quantity and taste of food is excellent! I ordered rice and egg curry for lunch. Absolutely loved it! Came here again for dinner. The egg Kottu is undoubtedly the best I've had in Sri Lanka. I also ordered string hoppers with chicken curry. The chicken curry is spicy and so flavourful. Finished the meal with curd and honey. Simple but delicious dessert. Don't forget to try the mango lassi as well! Great value for money. I highly recommend it!

So far the best restaurant I ever tried during my stay in Sri Lanka. Ella is full filled by fancy places but this one was a real one. Just two boys, one in the kitchen. That’s why service is pretty slow but wow food and also plating was very good! I would have gone often but unfortunately I had to leave. Truly recommended!

In the crowded town of Ella where all restaurants have high rates, this small place overtakes all of them. The experience is 100% local with prasad welcoming the clients with an humble and sweet kindness. The food is just excellent, beware of asking the spicy (it’s their standard of spicy!). And the price are super convenient. Come here!
